Sure, selling 12oz bags of coffee is fun. A LOT of fun. But do you know what’s even “funner?” Yep, when we sell 5LB bags. Why? Because when someone buys a 5LB bag most often means they’re getting it for a specific reason. What could you do with a 5LB bag of Loam Coffee? Here are some ideas …

SERVE COFFEE AT A TRAIL BUILDING DIG DAY

It is not uncommon for our coffee to be purchased to help support trail building efforts. How so? Almost all of trails are built by volunteers. That means they’re giving up precious time on the weekends to dig, shape, and rake. Locally, the trail building season kicks off in the fall, which means the days get darker and damper for us. It becomes normal to show up for a dig day, and it’s drizzling or outright raining. Under the canopy of trees digging commences. But there’s nothing better than showing up for a dig day only to find out hot coffee and donuts are waiting for you.

SERVE COFFEE AT YOUR BIKE SHOP

Bike shops are more than places where transactions are made where someone goes in to purchase bikes and other gear. Bikes shops most often are the hub and foundation for the mountain bike community in your area. It’s where relationships are formed, news is disseminated, events planned, and more. We’re finding more and more bike shops not only serving craft beer but also specialty coffee. For customers, how cool is it to be able to make them a pourover coffee while they shop? Again, it’s a great way to build community.

WHAT DO YOU GET IN A 5LB BAG?

In a 5LB bag of coffee, there are 2,267 grams of coffee. If you’re serving pourovers in a bike shop or trailhead, you’re using about 15 grams per cup of coffee. A quick calculation means that in a 5LB bag of coffee, you can serve 151 cups of coffee!!!! That’s a lot!! That’s a lot of trail building volunteers or customers in your bike shop. 151 cups in only one 5LB bag. Whew.
