When I started Loam Coffee in 2015, I was only focused on roasting and selling bags of coffee. That was it. But things change. Businesses grow and evolve over time. Loam Coffee is going through an evolution right now.

Several things happened along the way to spark this evolutionary leap. First, I picked up Nacho the Van and began the process of slowly converting it (him???) into a full-on coffee and camping van. While Nacho has been in and out of the mechanic shop since being stolen, I am encouraged by what is happening. With Nacho, I can do something I wasn’t able to previously … pull up at races and events and serve coffee (well, I take that back. I did cater a few events before Nacho, but it’s not quite the same).

A second piece that has developed over time is I’ve found myself doing more freelance photography. Most of that has centered on shooting mountain biking and road cycling events and races (on top of portraits, commercial shoots, and weddings). Race and event organizers always need quality photos and video content.

Coffee. Photography. Why not bring them together?

I put together several packages that combine catering coffee and shooting photos for races and events. Think of it as a two-for-one package. Since I recently did this for the Oregon 24-hour race in Bend (and had a blast), I decided to explore this more.

The good news is that this isn’t only for cycling events and races; there are many opportunities. Besides, who doesn’t want Nacho the Van pulled up at their event?
