For the first several years of Loam Coffee’s existence, we never had a van or anything like that. Whenever we did events, we’d move stuff around in my SUV, set up tents, etc. But that all changed once Nacho the MTB Van came into my life … What that also means is every time I head out of town on a road trip with Nacho, I grab a couple of different coffee brew method devices to test out. I have a cabinet full of various brew methods at home. Recently, I made such a trip and brought along with me the Cuppamoka by Wacaco.

How-To
So much of my life revolves around coffee. Even without thinking about it, I orient my daily routine around it. The first thing that I do every morning is to brew a cup of coffee using an Aeropress or make a pourover. Later on, I’ll make a manual brew cortado at home with my Rok. But then there’s traveling, road trips, and coffee. That’s a whole different category.
Race season is now in full force ... Enduro World Series, DH World Cup, and then a host of local and regional enduro, DH, and cross country races. Whether you're a sponsored racer, privateer, or weekend shredder, many of you are now getting into race season mode as you dial in your routine. What to bring? How much? Sleeping arrangements. Food. Travel. Oh, and then there's your bike ... are you flying solo? Do you have a mechanic? Lots of questions as you tweak things from race to race and weekend to weekend.
How's your coffee game?
There are radically different theories or approaches when it comes to brewing coffee. Heck, these completely diverse ways of thinking reflect a deeper philosophical approach to life. Not to try to play armchair psychologist here, but how you brew your coffee reflects much about who you really are. So what are those approaches? Let's tease this out, because it also reflects what kind of mountain biker you are too (doh!). Ready?
Life can be deceptive. Then we are bombarded by a million competing voices throughout the day. The media and marketing world are not purists as there is usually an agenda. We're no different. We have an agenda too. We're biased, unfair, and slant every conversation to our own leanings and value system.
And just like that the race season is beginning to wind down. There's one more stop on the Enduro World Series tour, the World Cup is over, and slowly but surely riders are making their way back home. Some are picking up life and jobs that were in place before the craze of race season. Now? Plans are already under way for the 2017 season. New potential sponsors, saving money, off-season training and weight training, and even taking a break from riding on dirt. So what else can you do to prepare for next season?
Pft, up your coffee game of course.
