Your Source for Brewing Coffee on the Go
How do you normally brew coffee? Do you brew coffee differently at home compared to when you’re on a week-long bikepacking trip or exploring the high desert backroads in your conversion van? By the way, there’s no right or wrong answer here. If you feel stuck, would you like some more ideas and options?
Many of you reading this are discovering Loam Coffee for the first time. Some of you ventured over here as part of the giveaway through Trail Builder Magazine and other partnering brands (we’re currently doing a giveaway with Backslop Tools. Learn more HERE). If that is you, welcome! My name is Sean Benesh, and yes, I run BOTH Trail Builder Magazine and Loam Coffee Roasters.
Yeah, it’s a lot. But also fun and meaningful.
Whether you’re on some bikepacking adventure, traveling in your van exploring or going from race to race, or heading out to work on trails for the day, coffee is an essential part of your day. And no, I’m not simply talking about coffee as jet fuel to jumpstart your day. Yes, caffeine is one reason we drink coffee, but we also really love the taste of coffee. So, what’s the best way to brew coffee, whether you’re at home or the trailhead?
The truth is, there is no “right” way. The best way? The one you enjoy and works for you. That doesn’t mean it’s not fun to brew coffee using different methods or a whole bunch of devices to make the experience fun.
Over the years, I’ve served coffee to a lot of mountain bikers, gravel riders, and trail builders. The best cup of coffee is most often the one in your hand. However, as I mentioned above, there are many ways to brew coffee.
One of the things I enjoy doing with Loam Coffee Roasters is not only roasting, selling, and serving coffee but also discovering and experimenting with new and different brew methods. Devices like the moka pot have been around since 1933, and we’re constantly seeing new brew method devices being invented. There’s never been a better time to drink and enjoy coffee.
One of the features on the website that I am working on expanding is our brew methods page. I have a growing number of brew methods for you to read about and explore. I have more brew methods I am experimenting with at home that I will be publishing soon.
Whether you’re new here or have been following along for a while, thank you for going on this coffee adventure with me.
