Have an Event? Why Not Book Nacho the MTB Van for Coffee?

My dream of buying, living out of, and serving coffee in a swank Sprinter van was upended the day I was offered to buy a 1995 Chevy Sportvan for $200. My $100k dream Sprinter van would have to wait. Thus the legend of Nacho the MTB Van was born.

To be fair, his original name was Chunk (like from the movie Goonies). I even created his own Instagram account. However, every time I posted about Chunk, my post was flagged and taken down by Instagram. I had violated community guidelines. Why or how? Without realizing it, the term “chunk” can also be misconstrued as a body-shaming term. So I happily changed it to Nacho. Besides, Nacho Libre is one of my all-time favorite movies (no joke).

Once I took ownership of Nacho and got it road ready, I decided to, in the beginning, go with a very minimalist and cost-effective way to get it set up to serve coffee. Sure, it’s also my camper van. Well, I say “camper van,” but it’s really a mostly empty shell of an inside where I hang my hammock. Beyond that, I bought all kinds of shelves to set it up to serve coffee at events on the move.

It’s definitely not opulent, but that’s ok. Neither is Nacho.

Since that fateful day of picking up Nacho, I’ve served coffee at a number of events. Mostly related to mountain biking and trail building. Every time is a blast, especially at places and events where I’m parked at a trailhead. If you’re interested in booking Nacho for an event, here’s all you need to know:
